Enjoy your holiday surrounded by olive gardens in the heart of Tuscany.

Welcome to Villa Tegolaia

Villa Tegolaia is a magical place located in the beautiful Florentine Hills.

Originally a "Casa Colonica" of the Benedictine monks of Vallombrosa Abbey, the villa has a rich history dating back to the year 1100, with the oldest part of the villa built around a central tower. Over time, the villa has expanded to include several additional floors and wings, as well as a typical Fienile or Granaria, a separate small building for storing grain and other agricultural products.

As you walk through our 5 hectares of olive groves and

grass, you'll notice the beautiful surrounding vineyards of the Rufina Chianti area. Our address, via Travignoli 62, 50060 Pelago (FI), is a private access road shared with our neighbor. Tiziano, the caretaker of the grounds and villa, takes great pride in maintaining the colorful borders and gardens around the property.

While Tiziano and his wife Lucia do not live on the

premises, they will be around during your stay to take care of the olive

groves, pool, and grounds. Please feel free to ask them any questions or

concerns you may have, but please remember that they are not service staff.

There are many possibilities for all types of vacation, including pleasant walks, exploring the medieval towns in the area, and shopping at the largest factory outlet in Italy, Leccio. Firenze is also nearby, just 20 km away and can be reached by car or train from Pontassieve to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (S.M.N.) which is 500 meters from the Duomo.

But most importantly, Villa Tegolaia is the perfect place for family vacations centered around the large pool, making pizzas in the original pizza oven, and cooking and dining together on one of our many terraces with unlimited views of the valley.

Dream away in the rolling hills, villas, vines, olives and cypresses. The landscape of Tuscany will let you enjoy the idyllic Italian lifestyle.

Amazing. So much charm and character. A beautiful rambling villa with amazing views and a magical atmosphere. The house is packed with quirky antiques and oil paintings adding to its unique character. It's beautifully kept gardens and swimming pool made it a perfect retreat for families and friends. Our children had a wonderful time playing in the gardens, swimming and bouncing on the trampoline amongst the olive trees. We also enjoyed using the pizza oven and barbecue!

Fabulous setting of a HUGE house, amidst the vines and olive groves with abundant wildlife and superb birds! I never did count how many bathrooms there were, but the oversupply of fridges/cutlery/crocks next to each (four) of the dining areas makes for a relaxed time. The vast kitchen stocked with every single item you may ever need was a luxury (even if the countless knives were all blunt-a common problem) Layout lovely to always have a cool place to eat, but the square table in the garden under the trees make for a magical spot for our big party. The space, level of equipment and cool indoors makes this a perfect villa. One expects a great pool and it was-but wow what a view. So special that nobody left the villa for the entire week except replenishing the food

Thank you so much - we've had a great time. The house is splendid and the pool is excellent. -- I have so much fun here and I loved playing ball with the dog in the garden. It has been one of my favourite holidays ever! -- Thank you to the lovely people who have been around to help us during our holiday.
